Raise your hand if you are OBSESSED with up-styles!

Aleesha Darke of The Society Collab in Gold Coast, Queensland is a sought-after session stylist and is deeply passionate about her craft. Over the years her work has been featured in Laud Magazine, Vogue Italia, Style me pretty, Polka Dot Bride, Modern Wedding Magazine and The Lane & Cosmo Bride!

With Aleesha’s versatile strengths in the bridal world, she can deliver anything from waves, curls, braids, boho up-dos and full glam up-dos while her signature style remains effortless and romantic.

“I don’t have a favourite technique, I have a few!” Aleesha explains. “It all depends on the result I’m wanting to achieve.”

Not only is Aleesha an amazing bridal stylist, but she also really appreciates the variety in her job. Working as a colourst in her own salon and running education events while sharing her passion are just a few reasons why she is so enthusiastic about her career. “What’s not to love!” Aleesha tells us.

Aleesha has recently ran some incredibly successful up-styling workshops using the Eco Style Project products – her favourite being the multi-talented Hairspray.

“My go-to is the Hairspray, not only does everyone love the smell of it, it’s also workable when upstyling, easily brushed out after doing waves and the finish leaves the hair shiny and looking like there’s minimal product in the hair!”

All stylists know that you can’t work without a hairspray, and what’s better than an eco-friendly, organic hairspray that does its job and keeps your hair healthy and clean… right?!

As a successful businesswoman and educator, Aleesha offers some valuable advice to blossoming stylists or those who are just wanting to up their at-home hair game. Like most professional stylists, Aleesha’s golden rule to hair styling is the prep. Hair prep is all about encouraging the clients to arrive with clean, dry hair and start with a product that will give the hair texture, grit and volume - such as the Eco Style Project Dry Shampoo.

“Fail to prep or prepare to fail.” Aleesha explains. “The key to creating amazing long-lasting styles is always in the hair prep!”

All incredible hairdressers and wedding stylists start somewhere. No one is born a great stylist, which is why the best advice Aleesha can give is: “practise, practise, practise.

Don’t be afraid of making mistakes, it always creates an opportunity to learn!”
